Wuksachi Lodge Celebrates Free Entrance Days in the National Parks
Sequoia National Park, CA – January 2012 / Hospitality 1ST / America’s Best Idea - the national parks - gets even better with several fee-free days at more than 100 national parks that usually charge entrance fees. In participation, Sequoia National Park will waive its entrance fees on the following dates in 2012:
  • January 14-16

  • Martin Luther King Jr. weekend
  • April 21-29

  • National Park Week
  • June 9

  • Get Outdoors Day
  • September 29

  • National Public Lands Day
  • November 10-12

  • Veterans Day weekend
With no snow on the ground yet, it could be good news for sun-seekers over Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. Unusual winter conditions in Sequoia National Park have provided mostly sunny and dry weather, and the early January forecast calls for more of the same. High-elevation trails are still easily accessible in hiking shoes, streams are flowing but easy to cross and opportunities to spot wildlife abound.

The Wuksachi Lodge, nestled in the heart of the park, beckons weary travelers and day hikers with deluxe mountain accommodations and the only full-service restaurant in the area. Visitors to the park can enhance their trip by booking an overnight stay or stopping in for breakfast, lunch or dinner (reservations recommended), or to enjoy a well-deserved glass of wine by the fireplace. For those who prefer to eat on the trail, box lunches can also be ordered from the lodge a day in advance.

For more information, to make dining reservations or to book an overnight stay at the Wuksachi Lodge, call 866-449-4902 or visit VisitSequoia.com.
